Christmas Farm Kitchen
After a long few days of traveling, my little family has landed in Eastern Oregon at my mother's farmhouse for the Christmas holiday.
For the past 18 months, she and her husband have been remodeling - or rather, restoring - their 1890's farm house kitchen. This was a huge undertaking that involved tearing out an old bathroom, moving water lines and removing and patching existing walls. The two of them did about 80 percent of the work themselves and frankly, I am in awe.
Mama, I bow down to your home-improvement prowess. (Some of you might remember her AMAZING bath remodel from last year.) The kitchen is a stunning jewel that now sits at the center of their incredible farm house. I'm so happy to be spending my holiday seated at this farm table as meals magically appear from the vintage 1949 Kelvinator. (She found it on Craigslist in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho).
