Singularity 2020
The Singularity paintings are my way of processing the mix of deep grief and active hope I feel about our changing climate. It is also a way to communicate our sacred interconnectedness and the precarious nature of this moment in history. Heavily influenced by Joanna Macy’s work as an activist and author focused on what she calls “The Great Turning”, these pieces are a call to action to love one another back into wholeness. The titles are taken from Steven Hawking’s singularity theorem and also from Marie Howe’s exquisite poem entitled Singularity. This is an ongoing series and I’ll be adding more artworks and media as the conversation grows in the months ahead.
