You have a story to tell.
I used to think that my own stories weren’t worth telling, because I didn’t have all the precise facts. I used to think that my truth was a fractured thing that couldn’t be shared because my memory of the events of my life could be called into question by those that were there. Somehow it didn’t “go exactly like that”. Or I was “missing some crucial information”. Or I “left out other important details.”
But guess what? I’m not creating a legal document. I’m attempting to get to the center the emotional, pull-no-punches, essential aspects of my story.
I am a keen listener and I know what I feel. And my truth, however imperfect under the gaze of the God of Exactness, is potent and certainly worth sharing.
You feel me?
This four-week writing workshop is a playful and premission-giving romp through your memory bank. I will share everything I’ve learned about excavating my own lived experiences and weaving them into meaningful, true-for-me short stories.
Week One: Verifiably True
Week Two: Energetically True
Week Three: Perhaps True
Week Four: Emotionally True
