Interpretation: Pleasure is inextricably linked to every part of our existence. Multi-sensory stimulation is how we understand ourselves and the world around us. Our senses are not peripheral factors in our wellbeing; they are central to it. Adrienne Maree Brown writes, “I believe our imaginations—particularly the parts of our imaginations that hold what we most desire, what brings us pleasure, what makes us scream yes—are where we must seed the future, turn toward justice and liberation, and reprogram ourselves to desire sexually and erotically empowered lives.” Shake off your shame and worry. The time has come to center your pleasure and wake up to the juicy, delicious, permissive reality of your own joy.

Deeper Resonance: This was the first nude I ever painted. I wanted her to be unapologetically vulnerable, yet also forward and unafraid.
